And, of course, as somebody that's been jamming buttons since the Atari 2600, I always like seeing a classic revitalized. The game has a playful air that should appeal to casual fans with a sense of humor. There is no shortage of puzzles in the game - 80 - which bodes well for longevity and value. I've been tinkering with a build of The Incredible Machine for a few days. The more attempts it takes you to solve the puzzle, the lower your grade. You must position your appliances on the blueprint field, rotate them to make sure their purpose is properly aligned (nothing's worse than forgetting to turn the fan in the right direction), and then give it a test run by pressing #. You'll stare at a tool box full of mirrors, lasers, blimps, and hedge trimmers and be left to your own device to create. After the easy levels, though, The Incredible Machine stops holding your hand.
